Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara
Herds of wildebeest dot the horizon – as far as the eye can see. Predators of the night roam the plains in broad daylight, in the lure of an easy meal. 1.3 million ungulates strip the grasslands bare as they zip across international borders in the race of life and death. Welcome to the great wildebeest migration. Known as the most amazing wildlife spectacle on planet earth, this natural event is a feast for the eyes and your cameras. Nowhere else in the world can you expect such a huge concentration of wildlife, where predators, prey and scavengers share space and probably even photo frames.
This comprehensive 2-park African safari focuses on photography. We take every effort to make this a great learning experience. The first part of our tour is a trip to Lake Nakuru which attracts a sizeable population of African fish eagles, flamingoes and Goliath herons and Verreax’s eagles. Our main focus here would be to catch the tree climbing lions. Then we head to Masai Mara world famous grasslands where you will get to see, feel and experience the big five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard & cape buffalo) in their natural habitat.

Day 3-8 – Sep 22th (Fri) – Sep 26th (Tue)
This could most possibly be the most satisfying part of the tour. We will be making a number of trips through the great African savanna and the sheer density of wildlife will never seize to amaze. Gazelles, wildebeests and zebras graze in large numbers. Supported by the Mara River and its tributary the Talek, the park here encompasses 1510 sq kilometres of open grassland tucked away in the south western corner of the country. At Mara it is pretty common to find lions, Cheetahs and leopards lazing around or if we are lucky, we might get to experience the predators hunting for food. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in large numbers, giving us an opportunity make photographs of them and also capture the wildlife images in their most natural habitat while experimenting with a variety of lenses, styles and backdrops. We can also arrange a visit to a local Maasai Village if you like(at an extra cost). Overnight at Jackal Berry Camp.
Day 8: We head back to Nairobi and will have a small picnic lunch where we can relax and discuss the overall experience of the tour and about wildlife photography before we reach the airport by evening.
