Sunrise to sunset safari (depending on the weather) provides some amazing photography opportunities. Yes, the Big-5 are high on the list. Apart from them, the bird life is wonderful as well. Staying right at the heart of it all, this African experience is one of a kind, with memories that will last a lifetime.

A great opportunity to observe, learn about and photograph the Big-5. Apart from this, great moments watching and photographing the African Elephants and the winged beauties of Lake Nakuru. You will understand the nuances of wildlife photography. How best to use the available light to create high impact images. How to posit yourself properly and wait for the right moment rather than go trigger happy. A lot of interactions on the field and off it regarding compositions and post processing will help you to up your photography skills many notches.

The Great Migration

Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara

Herds of wildebeest dot the horizon – as far as the eye can see. Predators of the night roam the plains in broad daylight, in the lure of an easy meal. 1.3 million ungulates strip the grasslands bare as they zip across international borders in the race of life and death. Welcome to the great wildebeest migration. Known as the most amazing wildlife spectacle on planet earth, this natural event is a feast for the eyes and your cameras. Nowhere else in the world can you expect such a huge concentration of wildlife, where predators, prey and scavengers share space and probably even photo frames.

This comprehensive 2-park African safari focuses on photography. We take every effort to make this a great learning experience. We wish that you will take back some great memories and relive this experience many times over for a long time. Our visits to the greatest lakes and the vast and endless savannah will let you experience the most magnificent beasts of Africa in their natural habitat. And that is what the tour of Kenya truly will be. We promise that you’ll experience mesmerising sunrise and sunsets over the grasslands.

The first part of our tour is a trip to Lake Nakuru which attracts a sizeable population of African fish eagles, flamingoes and Goliath herons and Verreax’s eagles. Our main focus here would be to catch the tree climbing lions. Then we head to Masai Mara world famous grasslands where you will get to see, feel and experience the big five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard & cape buffalo) in their natural habitat.

Sep 20th – 27th 2017 ( 7N/8D)

Post our breakfast, we will head to Lake Nakuru and we plan to arrive for lunch. Post lunch, your tour leader will brief on the plan for the day and next day that we will spend in Nakuru. Tour leader will explain in detail on the targets species to be photographed in this location and help you get the required shots.

This lake offers one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife sights, that of endless and brilliant pink flamingos. We will also get to watch, observe and click the reedbuck, African waterbuck and the stunning Rothschild giraffe. Food and lodging for the night will be arranged at Lake Nakuru lodge.

After an early breakfast we set off for the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, driving past extinct volcanoes on the boundaries of Rift Valley. Enroute we have lunch at Narok and on the drive we will certainly encounter the big five in all their natural glory. Maasai Mara has the highest concentration of land mammals than any other park or reserve in Kenya! Dinner and overnight stay will arranged at the camp in Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at Jackal Berry Camp.

  • Day 3-8 – Sep 22th (Fri) – Sep 26th (Tue)

This could most possibly be the most satisfying part of the tour. We will be making a number of trips through the great African savanna and the sheer density of wildlife will never seize to amaze. Gazelles, wildebeests and zebras graze in large numbers. Supported by the Mara River and its tributary the Talek, the park here encompasses 1510 sq kilometres of open grassland tucked away in the south western corner of the country. At Mara it is pretty common to find lions, Cheetahs and leopards lazing around or if we are lucky, we might get to experience the predators hunting for food. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos also exist in large numbers, giving us an opportunity make photographs of them and also capture the wildlife images in their most natural habitat while experimenting with a variety of lenses, styles and backdrops. We can also arrange a visit to a local Maasai Village if you like(at an extra cost). Overnight at Jackal Berry Camp.

Day 8: We head back to Nairobi and will have a small picnic lunch where we can relax and discuss the overall experience of the tour and about wildlife photography before we reach the airport by evening.
