A great opportunity to observe, learn about and photograph the Big-5. Apart from this, great moments watching and photographing the African wildlife you will understand the nuances of wildlife photography. How best to use the available light to create high impact images. How to posit yourself properly and wait for the right moment rather than go trigger happy. A lot of interactions on the field and off it regarding compositions and post-processing will help you to up your photography skills many notches.
Masai Mara is a magical destination for the true nature lovers. Varying landscapes and the abundant wildlife species in every region gives amusing time being inside the forests. The mind remains alert to be able to catch a glimpse of a wild animal revealing its actual, untamed behaviour in the wild. The forests of Masai Mara is just perfect to learn the details of nature and photography in the real scenarios.
Herds of wildebeest dot the horizon – as far as the eye can see. Predators of the night roam the plains in broad daylight, in the lure of an easy meal. 1.3 million ungulates strip the grasslands bare as they zip across international borders in the race of life and death. Welcome to the great wildebeest migration. Known as the most amazing wildlife spectacle on planet earth, this natural event is a feast for the eyes and your cameras. Nowhere else in the world can you expect such a huge concentration of wildlife, where predators, prey and scavengers share space and probably even photo frames.
This comprehensive African safari focuses on photography. We take every effort to make this a great learning experience. We wish that you will take back some great memories and relive this experience many times over for a long time. Our visits to the greatest lakes and the vast and endless savannah will let you experience the most magnificent beasts of Africa in their natural habitat. And that is what the tour of Kenya truly will be. We promise that you’ll experience mesmerizing sunrise and sunsets over the grasslands.
Our main focus here would be to catch and make some interesting images of the great migration and the other wild stories that unfold every day. Masai Mara world famous grasslands where you will get to see, feel and experience the big five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard & cape buffalo) in their natural habitat.
Day 1 – Aug 29th (Sat)
Participants will be picked up from airport and checked in to near by hotel. Pick up and the hotel stay is included with breakfast. Dinner is not included in this. Participants can rest early on this day.
Day 2– Aug 30th (Sun)
After an early breakfast around 6.30 am, we check out the hotel and embark on our road trip to Masai Mara. We set off for the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, driving past extinct volcanoes on the boundaries of Rift Valley. As we enter the gate, we will start our game drive and slowly reach our camp which will be our base for our next 5 nights. We will reach the camp just in time for lunch and check in. After briefing by the tour leader, we will head out for our evening drive in open 4X4 landcruiser.
After short break we will meet up for thourough image review session and your tour leader will set your expectations based on the sightings and brief you with the next course of action.
Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged at the camp in Masai Mara.
Day 3 – 6 – Aug 31st (Mon) – Sept 3rd (Thu)
We will be making a number of trips through the great African savanna and the sheer density of wildlife will never seize to amaze. Gazelles, wildebeests, and zebras graze in large numbers. Supported by the Mara River and its tributary the Talek, the park here encompasses 1510 sq kilometers of open grassland tucked away in the southwestern corner of the country. At Mara it is pretty common to find lions, Cheetahs and leopards lazing around or if we are lucky, we might get to experience the predators hunting for food. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos also exist in large numbers, giving us an opportunity make photographs of them and also capture the wildlife images in their most natural habitat while experimenting with a variety of lenses, styles, and backdrops.
Optional activities not included in package : Balloon rides (450-500 $ per person), Masai village (40$ approx per person) and Sundowner (50$ per person).
Overnight at luxurious camp in Mara.
Day 7 – Sep 4th (Fri)
After early morning short game drive, we will be back to the camp for breakfast. Post breakfast, we will head out to Nairobi Airport.
On the way lunch is not included in the package.
