A great opportunity to observe, learn about and photograph the majestic cat in its dominion. You will understand the nuances of wildlife photography. How best to use the available light to create high impact images. How to posit yourself properly and wait for the right moment rather than go trigger happy. A lot of interactions on the field and off it regarding compositions and post-processing will help you to up your photography skills many notches.
Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the most popular national parks in India, located in the Vindhya Hills of the Umaria district in Madhya Pradesh it was declared as a national park in 1968 and is spread across an area of 105 km². Bandhavgarh flourishes with a large biodiversity of flora & fauna and is famous for its high density of tigers. The park also has a breeding population of leopards, jackals, dholes, various species of deer and more
The park has been divided into three major zones namely Tala, Magdi, and Kithauli. It consists of soft sandy tracks throughout the park for safaris. Bandhavgarh consists of mixed vegetations ranging from tall grasslands to thick Sal forest. Due to varied topography, the Bandhavgarh national park provides ample opportunity to spot the majestic Indian tiger and some rarely seen animals like leopard and sloth bear.
Winter is a great time to look for tigers. Tigers, habitually wait for the sun to emerge to break away from the cold morning. Sightings are hence, generally higher during this time of the year and they tend to give prolonged time for us to make some images. Brace yourselves and get ready for some thrilling wildlife photography
Day 1 – April 8th (Wed)
Participants arrive at Jabalpur or Katni and will be picked up by us and we will head to the resort. We will stop on the way for a lip-smacking lunch.
Day 2-4 – April 9th (Thu) – April 11th (Sat)
These three days will be power packed safaris for us at the prime zones. All the participants will get a wake-up call at 5:30 AM, followed by a hot cup of chai. We head on to our morning safari into the forest of Bandhavgarh. A great time and wonderful light to try out many different compositions and image making. We will be on the lookout for the tigers of course. All the time, our tour expert will be there to guide you every step of the way. We come back to the resort by 10:30 AM. Freshen up, have our breakfast and get together for a quick discussion session. How things went on in the safari and suggestions for improving our image making skills etc.
Post that, we are all free to take rest or explore the resort property. A good birding location it is too. We then gather for lunch at 1:30 PM and head on to our afternoon safari at 2:15 PM.
Coming back at 5:30 PM, we have tea and snacks and go through one quick image review session again. We will run a post-processing session for all.
Following this will be dinner at 8:30 PM and then retire for the day.
Day 5 – April 12th (Sun)
We will get up a little late at leisure for a sumptuous breakfast and we will head to Jabalpur airport to catch our flight to our destination.
